What is the difference between serial and parallel configuration in operator?

How are Hardware Synthesizers different from Software Synthesizers ?
Hardware or analog synthesizers work with pure electricity. Most software synths are based on hardware synths, and are hence a digital imitation. The concepts discussed are originally are very much applicable to analog synthesizers.
